Rob, you were one of the smartest people it has been my privilege to meet (and believe me I have met some smart folks over the years!). You always gave 100% as a minimum and frequently a lot more. I remember you standing up to the folks at UTRC regarding the inert gas project (and being proved right of course!) as well as the volume and quality of work, there was the infectious, sometimes almost wicked, sense of humour. Then there was the generosity of the produce from your allotment, green beans by the carrier bagful! How you found time to manage that never ceased to amaze me. Even though our paths only crossed infrequently in recent year I will alway remember you fondly. Rest in peace Adam Chattaway
